13th Balint Intensive Workshop – Hobart, November 2023

The Balint Society of Australia and New Zealand is pleased to resume its annual intensive workshops.
This will be an immersive Balint group experience, open to those who have not had a previous Balint group experience as well as to experienced group members and leaders.
We invite clinicians interested in participating in and learning more about Balint groups to join us.
We welcome all health professionals, including students.

Where?

The Old Woolstore, 1 Macquarie St, Hobart

When?

From 12 noon on Thursday 9 November 2023

To 3pm on Sunday 12 November 2023

 

Participants need to be present for the entire intensive.

 

Who?

All clinicians are welcome, regardless of area of practice, experience or seniority, including students.

 

Workshop Description

Most of the work will take place in small groups with experienced leaders. The membership of each group will remain constant throughout the workshop.

 

Reflections on leadership and group process will follow each case story and discussion. The workshop programme will also include large group events and social activities.

An intensive Balint group experience can stir up strong feelings. If you are at a vulnerable time in your life, you might want to consider attending a workshop at another time.

BalintANZ reserves the right to select participants for its workshops based on a range of factors.

Please do not make travel and accommodation arrangements until your application has been accepted.

Please note that there might be minor changes to the programme but the intensive will begin and end at the stated times.

Continuing Professional Development points

A certificate of participation will be provided to all participants. Participants are advised to confirm with their professional development or registration body that this event will meet their requirements.

 

Registration fee

For current BalintANZ members:

$AU 1,500 for Australian participants.

$NZ 1,620 for New Zealand participants.

For those who are not members of BalintANZ:

$AU 1,700 for Australian participants

$NZ 1, 820 for New Zealand participants

The fee covers all sessions, lunches, morning and afternoon teas and the welcome (Thursday) and gala (Saturday) dinners.

It does not include accommodation, breakfasts or dinner on the Friday night.

Once your application has been accepted, we will provide payment details.

Cancellation policy

For cancellations before 1 October, a refund of the full fee, less a $AU 50 administration fee.

For cancellations after 1 October, no refund will be available, unless the place can be filled.
